BUSH CAMP (SELF CATERING)
Introduction
An old farm house on another one of the original farms that is now part of the larger Nimeng ranch has been comfortably developed into a “bush camp” homestead. Hunters and eco-tourists who need a total break from "first-world" comforts and lifestyles and the hassles and dazzles of rat-race living, will absolutely adore this venue.
Don't miss opportunities to experience a stay in this rustic old fashioned house in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the animal kingdom on your doorstep, but not too far from somewhere for a bread, booze or a packet of smokes!
Architecture
We were able to convert this old building structure, with its limitations, into a kitchen and three very comfortable private bedrooms. The original large enclosed veranda of the house was converted into a six-berth dormitory and a large open veranda was attached and enclosed with canvas walling for extra accommodation.
A striking feature of this venue is its boma with en-suite kitchen.
A new outdoor building with unobstructed views of the bushveld surroundings has separate shower and toilet facilities for men and women.
Hot water is generated with a traditional bushveld geyser called a “donkey.” Lighting is provided by 12 volt batteries with 12 volt LED lights.
Accommodation Facility
Each of the bedrooms has two single beds with comfortable mattresses with linen, a grooming vanity and a wardrobe. The dormitory has six bunker beds with comfortable mattresses and linen, and a separate wardrobe for each resident.
Kitchen Facility
The kitchen is spacious with two built-in cupboards. These cupboards are stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and other basic utensils for serving sixteen residents. The kitchen has a gas operated four plate stove, fridge and freezer for the storage of perishables, cold water, cool drinks and booze. The kitchen also has a large service window that opens onto the boma. It can comfortably to be used as a bar counter.
